Much as I hate to move the focus off me, I was celebrating my last day in this glorious neighbourhood of Rosebank, JHB, so I decided to watch a movie at the local mall.
I chose the movie Eternity that opened on 24 December....he he he...didn't know it was a local production until the vampires opened their mouths and that unmistakeable flat joburg accent poured out the worst acting I have seen on the big screen in ages.
It was a shocker after the brilliance that was District 9. After an hour I had to walk out laughing....it was like a parody of Twilight....without the appeal of good actors - all that hissing and fanging.
Those vampies sounded like cats with hairballs stuck in their throats...and Christina Storm and the lead chick....pouting all over the place.....who the hell told them they could act?
I felt like asking her to please retract her bottom lip in case I tripped over it while fleeing the cinema in hysterical giggles.
And the poor lead guy Andre whatsisname......doing Edward Cullen sensitive - Benoni style -and not pulling it off by a mile. What were they going for...scary...romantic..ludicrous? I don't even know how it ended..they probably bored each other to death.
Eish.I feel cheated...do they know what movie tickets cost at the Rosebank Zone?
EINA SA...be original.Stop trying to copy. We've got so many great stories to tell...and not all of them political- find them - and if you must go vamp on us, can't you try for something more original than trying to make twilight/blade wannabee crap?
