Starting something new

So, I guess it is appropriate that I start this blog on the evening of my birthday – I won't tell you how old, not that I am ashamed of it...but I don't like being reminded of it around every corner. And lets face it, there are some of you who are extraordinarily fond of whipping out that there particular number and beating me over the head with it.

And frankly I think my head is going to be banging enough tomorrow morning without any additional help.

(Note to self: if you're going to get smashed on champers...it is ok to buy the cheap stuff..the expensive bubbles causes more pain to the pocket and to the head.)

Now comes my update on my African adventure

My plans have been fuzzed up (see I didn't swear – for all you doubters). Turns out I have to leave not the 31^st of December....but on the 3^rd of Jan...damn. So much for symbolic.Well I guess it is... really.
I have to get used to having to rearrange plans at the drop of a hat. Things change fast in Africa.

But back to the flight. The one on the 31^st of Dec, leaves just after midnight on the 30^th and goes via Niarobi and costs almost R2000 more than the one leaving on the 3^rd Jan at the reasonable hour of 15:00. 

It could just be me...but HUH??!
